Não sou um entendido nisto, mas pode ser que o problema esteja no
SAFE MODE Restriction

Tanto quando sei, e os entendidos daqui podem esclarecer melhor, o SAFE MODE é uma opção do PHP que deve estar OFF

Isso se pode ver no quadro incial que dá o Mambo qundo se faz uma instalação dum site ( aonde se destrava as pastas )
Aparece embaixo à esquerda SAFE MODE OFF

Também se pode ver com a função phpinfo() no quadro PHP CORE

Poderia ser que tenhas que pedir ao administrador que te altere o Safe mode se estás a instalar na rede.


Mas, repito, sei muito pouco disto.
